Winemaker Mario Marson as always, looks at the status quo, grabs it, shakes it around and spins it on its head. This Sangiovese and Nebbiolo based Rose grown upon the ancient Cambrian soils of Heathcote (which is unique enough as it is) is styled as a Provence bone-dry style Old World Rose, which is unheard of. The leathery and herbal characteristics of Nebbiolo gives way to the ripe strawberry and red berries of Sangiovese, a brilliant combination that is finished by a crisp and lingering finish.
