Barbera, always the bridesmaid to the Barolo bride is the best example to taste the terroir of Piemonti without having to hang about for 10 years for it to come round and hurry it’s arse up. Well, balanced dark fruits and a glimpse of a woodland earth base make this a far better option than the snooty, prom queen Barolo.
