A unique experiment from Terres des Dames - using a Burgundian-style ageing process for these Languedoc grown Syrah grapes, they are aged for 24 months in top quality 600L French Oak. A process which is quite uncommon in this area of France and a process described by Jancis Robinson as 'very impressive'. The result is a wine with many more similarities to the Northern Rhone style, bold fruit, fine-grained tannins and oodles of spice and smoke. The Terre de dames has a remarkable expression of fruit intensity with fine spice, toasty hazelnuts, damson paste, and a smokey finish. The impressive tannins are silky enough to give the fruit a backbone but not to overpower.
